The Advisory Partners Program is designed for Georgia Tech alumni and community volunteers who have deep market knowledge and wish to engage with our researchers in a meaningful way. We are looking to you to help inventors understand the key value propositions their innovation brings to their target market.
Advisory Partners will deeply engage with researchers to provide insights, connections, and advice as they build out their knowledge base and insights into their markets, customers, and business models. As an Advisory Partners, you will provide research teams with:
· Connections and introductions to your colleagues and help organizing customer discovery interviews
· Connections and introductions to other important stakeholders in the supply chain, including OEMs and contract manufacturers
· Brainstorming sessions and strategic discussions to accelerate teams in their entrepreneurial journey
If your research team creates a startup, you could have the opportunity to serve on the Advisory Board, earning equity and/or compensation. Quadrant-i Principals will help determine next steps for your involvement in a venture-backed startup.
Program Structure
Advisory Partners will be connected to a specific startup project by a Quadrant-i Principal based on your background, interest, and bandwidth. Ideal projects will have already accomplished some level of customer discovery and will be ready to engage in a focused way with one or two market segments.
Advisory Partner qualifications include:
· Deep market knowledge
· Experience in navigating organizations and professional societies to find relevant stakeholders and decision-makers
· Industry experience, but startup experience not required
· Willingness to engage with teams once or twice per month, and offer one or two industry connections per month
SELECTION PROCESS
Advisory Partners will be chosen based on their experience and fit with the innovation, including knowledge of relevant supply chains and business models. It is not anticipated that any proprietary information will be disclosed, but should it become necessary, an Advisory Partner may need to sign an NDA with Georgia Tech.
KEY DELIVERABLES
1. At least two industry connections or advisement sessions per month.
2. An initial draft of a quantified value proposition within six months
3. A better, more comprehensive business model canvas within six months
