Entrepreneurs-in-Residence (EIR) is a selective program for proven founders and senior business experts to lead a spinout company from Georgia Tech. At this deepest level of engagement with Quadrant-i, you will be making a significant commitment in evaluating and assisting Georgia Tech researchers to take their innovation to market.
In this critical role, you will:
· Evaluate university IP and research
· Shape go-to-market and financing plans
· Drive startup formation
· Mentor teams to achieve fundable milestones
If your research team creates a startup, you could have the opportunity to serve in a senior leadership position at the spinoff, earning equity and/or compensation. Quadrant-i Principals will help determine next steps for your involvement in a venture-backed startup.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE
EIRs will partner with Quadrant-i Principals to select promising projects and teams that have already demonstrated commitment through participation in Georgia Tech commercialization programs (I-Corps, Startup Launch, GRA, Biolocity etc.). Ideal projects will be approaching MVP development within six to 12 months or have clear FDA regulatory paths for biotech and medtech innovations. After signing Georgia Tech's NDA, you will meet with research teams to discuss promising innovations and select up to two projects for deeper investigation.
